Trent Franks links balanced budget to abortion and Nazis

Truth is, former oil man and now Republican Congressman Trent Franks, who's definitely in the running for the looniest congressman from the looniest state, can link any topic to abortion. In the mid-80s Franks founded the Arizona Family Research Institute, the local version of Dobson's Focus on the Family. He was elected to the state legislature in 1984 running primarily on one issue: abortion. When Franks was elected to the US House in 2002, he arrived in DC with one goal: overturn Roe v Wade, and his entire tenure has been devoted to doing just that. This spring during the Planned ...

AHCA Passes: Promise Fulfilled
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Trent Franks issued the following statement to commend House passage of the American Health Care Act: "The federal government is not known for its ability to keep entitlement spending under control. Obamacare has been the perfect example of what health care looks like in the hands of an unimaginably large bureaucracy. Premium cost hikes have crippled American families, Medicaid is failing those most in need, and regulation is stifling innovation. "Passing the American Health Care Act is the start of our promise to “repeal and replace” Obamacare. The AHCA moves us closer to a patient-centered system that meets the needs of more Americans better than under Obamacare. People with pre-existing conditions will be protected while allowing States greater flexibility to lower premiums and stabilize the insurance market. I was pleased to vote in favor of this landmark bill."

The outgoing administration left our economy, constitution, and military in desperate need of rebuilding. Mayors expressed their desire to see more block grants given to the State of Arizona. Congressman Franks reiterated his commitment to getting block grants for Arizona because he recognizes local governments know how to spend money bet
U.S. Stands with Egypt
Washington, D.C. – Yesterday two Coptic Churches in Egypt were bombed by ISIS. 43 people were killed and over 100 were wounded in the deadly attacks which corresponded with the Christian holy day: Palm Sunday. Founder and Chairman of the International Religious Freedom Caucus, Congressman Trent Franks, issued the following statement: "I am sickened to hear of the cowardly attack perpetrated by ISIS against Coptic Christians yesterday in Egypt. Our earnest thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families, and to all of Egypt. These spineless terrorists target Christian on holy days, knowing there will be congregations gathered together, living out their deepest faith in worship. "Following President Trump’s targeted response to Assad’s disgusting crimes in Syria, I sincerely hope ISIS is aware that the United States is once again engaged in the world. We stand with President El-Sisi in his increased commitment to root out this brutal, spineless, hateful evil. The Unite
Syria Strike: America's Arsenal of Freedom
Washington, D.C. – Last night, President Trump ordered a targeted military strike on the airfield in Syria from where a deadly chemical attack was launched on Tuesday. Strategic Forces Subcommittee Vice Chairman, Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ), released the following statement in support of this proportional response: "One of the hardest decisions any president ever makes is a military strike. The implications for human casualties and the escalation of conflict are always considerations of great gravity. The tone and substance of the statement President Trump issued last night made it clear that this US military response was predicated on a genuine compassion for the innocent victims of the sarin gas attack. "Something the Obama Administration never grasped was the danger of capable and humane nations like the United States standing by and allowing the torture and desecration of innocents. Not only does it coarsen the collective human conscience but it also invites evil to our own
