Weekly Republican Address: A Better Way to Fix Health Care
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In this week’s Republican address, House Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) discusses our plan to repeal Obamacare and replace it with patient-centered solutions. The address comes on the third anniversary of the rollout of Obamacare. It serves as a prebuttal to a health care speech the president will give on Wednesday in Tampa, Florida. “House Republicans are listening, and we know it’s not enough to simply acknowledge the failures and the fallout,” Chairman Price says in the address. “It’s up to us to offer an alternative. And that’s what we have done. We’re calling it a Better Way for Health Care. And you can read the whole plan on our website: better.gop.”   ###

Price and Members of the Congressional Doctors Caucus Urge the Administration to Address MACRA Implementation Concerns
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06) and members of the Congressional Doctors Caucus sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in regards to the implementation of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015. The letter urges CMS to carefully address a number of multi-layered, high-level concerns that physicians will face on January 1, 2017 under the new payment system established under MACRA. MACRA repealed the existing Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula that Medicare has been using to determine physician reimbursement payments. If, however, CMS implements the law in a manner that is inconsistent with Congressional intent, MACRA has the potential to overcomplicate an already burdensome and complex quality repor
