Tim Ryan on taxes, fracking, and rebuilding US manufacturing

Ryan was in Columbus to help fight against Ohio SB 5 and Ohio HB 194. After speaking with Ryan, I'm inspired, surprised and confused. I'm inspired ordinary people such as myself can engage with politicians who spend much of their time in D.C. ButI'm surprised he said fracking (if done right) is a way to address Global Warming. And I'm confused by his support for a flat tax that is somehow progressive. I didn't know the two were compatible. First, the congressman's remarks about taxes, then on to fracking and rebuilding US manufacturing. Tom Over : What is your opinion on raising taxes on ...

n response to today's announcement that opponents of House Bill 194 had filed 318,460 signatures to place the Republican voter suppression initiative on the 2012 ballot for repeal, Congressman Tim Ryan released the following statement: "Today's announcement of the filing of 318,460 signatures for the repeal of HB 194 is a loud and clear message to the Governor and the Republicans in the Ohio State Legislature. These attacks are anti-American because they suppress our most fundamental right as Americans: the right to vote. It is an insult to all the men and women of our Armed Forces, and their ...

Congressman Ryan is against privatizing the Ohio Turnpike

Ohio congressman Tim Ryan joined two former directors of the Ohio Turnpike and Teamsters Local 436 in Tuesday to speak out against the privatization of the turnpike. Ryan says we should learn from Indiana’s mistake. The tolls have nearly doubled, the roads are falling apart and the restrooms are in disarray. He also thinks this is not a good time to get the amount of money its worth. This is not a seller's market this is a buyer's market so why would sell one of the great assets of Ohio at the worst possible time when you're going to get the worst value says Ryan. ... Congressman Tim Ryan Statement on Senate Republican Healthcare Bill
Washington, DC – Congressman Tim Ryan released the following statement in response to Senate Republicans releasing their healthcare bill.  “Senate Republican’s have finally released their healthcare plan, and it looks a lot like the House’s ruinous version. This bill will have devastating consequences for hard working families, the elderly, and the sick. It is an absolute betrayal of everything we stand for as Americans. Senate Republicans’ message to the American people? Tax cuts for the wealthiest among us take precedent over your affordable care. They took a House bill that that didn’t reduce the cost of premiums, that didn’t expand health coverage for all, that didn’t protect people with pre-existing conditions and that nobody liked, and nobody wanted, and doubled down on it. “Just this week, Montgomery County, Ohio became the drug overdose capital of America,  with drug overdoses becoming the leading cause of death around the country, Republicans are touting a
