Elected in 2007, Beshear previously served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1974 to 1979, was the state's Attorney General from 1980 to 1983, and was Lieutenant Governor from 1983 to 1987. Beshear's term expires in 2011, and he is seeking re-election. HANSON, KY (WFIE) - The Kentucky Governor brings big checks for two western Kentucky communities. A community block grant totaling $867,000 will pay for the final phase of Hanson's sewer project to be completed. They are converting from a pumping mechanism to using good old fashioned gravity.
