Upon his inauguration in January 2003, he became the first Republican governor of Georgia since Benjamin F. Conley served during Reconstruction in the 1870s. Early life Sonny Perdue was born in Perry, Georgia. He currently lives in Bonaire, an unincorporated area between Perry and Warner Robins. His father was a farmer and his mother was a teacher. Perdue celebrates company's opening in Jefferson


JEFFERSON — Gov. Sonny Perdue joined with Jackson County officials Monday to mark the opening of Systemax's new TigerDirect retail store, which is expected to create 400 jobs in the Jefferson area over the next five years. Bonds sold for Alliance Academy
The Public Facilities Authority has completed its first project, which will fund construction for a new career-focused high school in Forsyth County. On Thursday, the authority vote 4-0, with member Richard Ward absent, to approve a supplemental bond resolution, which included the final terms of the bond, to fund construction of the Alliance Academy for Innovation of Cumming-Forsyth County, which is set to open in fall 2018.
