His Senate seat was previously held by Republican Kit Bond, until his retirement. Blunt served as the U.S. Representative from Missouri's 7th congressional district from 1997 to 2011. Rare Praise For Roy Blunt

Sen. Roy Blunt said this morning he believes damage from the Joplin tornado could reach $3 billion. He wants the federal government to assume a bigger share of cleanup costs than usual. Billy Long, when I asked him about Eric Cantor’s budget offsets-or-else-no-money-for-Joplin comments . On this issue, even if only on this issue, Roy Blunt gets it and he’s not ...

Blunt has been a vocal opponent of the Obama Administration's health care reform bill since his days in the House and, after just a few months in the Senate, has already established himself as a full-throated conservative voice against many Obama-administration policies.Blunt circulated a critical video Wednesday featuring Missouri ...

Blunt doesn't fault Obama for European trip

Sen. Roy Blunt said he won't be joining President Barack Obama on his visit to Joplin on Sunday to see the tornado's devastation, and he doesn't fault the president for not cutting short his European trip to rush to Missouri sooner. Obama arrived in Ireland on Monday, a day after the tornado wrought devastation on the southwest Missouri city. He has been criticized by some, including right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham, for drinking a pint of Guinness while so many Americans back home were suffering. Obama downed his beer while visiting a pub in his ancestral home of Moneygall as part of a ...
