Reagan was born in Tampico in Whiteside County, Illinois, reared in Dixon in Lee County, Illinois, and educated at Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and sociology. Upon his graduation, Reagan first moved to Iowa to work as a radio broadcaster and then in 1937 to Los Angeles, California. A picture has emerged apparently showing Russia's Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in his former days as a KGB officer. The 20-year old photo depicts two world leaders – U.S. President Ronald Reagan and the Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev — in Moscow. But, according to the man who took the photo, it also captures Putin disguised as a tourist. House passes bill to honor Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday

The House of Representatives recently passed a bill 371-19 to honor President Ronald Reagan on the 100th anniversary of his birth. The Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission Act would create an 11member commission that will plan and carry out activities deemed fitting to honor Reagan on his 100th birthday on Feb. 6, 2011. The commission will make recommendations and provide necessary assistance for federal, state and local governmental agencies and civic groups to honor Reagan's 100th birthday. "American Radio Relay League's (ARRL) Field Day:  This Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Exercise has been held on the Grounds of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum for the past 14 years on the fourth weekend of June. For the event, the Ventura County Amateur Radio Society (VCARS) will be joined by the Simi Settlers Amateur Radio Club (SSARC), operating under the Special Events call-sign of N6R (honoring former President and Mrs. Reagan).  The annual 24-hour Field Day Exercise, starting at 11 AM on June 27th, promotes public awareness and provides training experience for local Amateur Radio Operators (Hams).  By its conclusion, at 11 AM on June 28th, event participants at the Library will have established Amateur Radio Communications with thousands of other clubs, groups, & individuals throughout North America, most of whom were also operating under simulated emergency conditions."
