CZE: JUDr. Otakar Motejl (10. září 1932, Praha – 9. května 2010, Brno) byl český právník a politik.
Život
Vystudoval Právnickou fakultu Univerzitě Karlově v Praze v roce 1955 a poté pracoval jako advokát postupně v Banské Bystrici, na Kladně a v Praze.
V letech 1966 až 1968 působil v Právnickém ústavu Ministerstva spravedlnosti, v letech 1968 až 1970 byl soudcem Nejvyššího soudu, v té době se významně podílel na probíhajících rehabilitacích. Jako advokát hájil lidi nespravedlivě pronásledované komunistickým režimem (v 50. letech i v době normalizace – např. Have you voted for or against Otakar Motejl ? Hanu Marvanovou nebo členy skupiny The Plastic People of the Universe). V letech 1990 až 1992 byl předsedou Nejvyššího soudu ČSFR, v letech 1993 až 1998 předseda Nejvyššího soudu ČR.
V roce 1998 byl jmenován ministrem spravedlnosti. 18. prosince 2000 byl zvolen Veřejným ochráncem práv a v roce 2006 byl Poslaneckou sněmovnou do tohoto úřadu zvolen na dalších šest let.
Motejl po jistém váhání přijal funkci hlavního arbitra v kauze Diag Human, která má určit konečnou výši odškodného, které má český stát zaplatit firmě za neuskutečněné obchody s krevní plazmou. Byl silný kuřák.

Life
Motejl graduated from the Law Faculty of the Charles University of Prague in 1955, and then worked as a lawyer in Banská Bystrica, Kladno, and Prague. Between 1966 to 1968, he worked at the Law Institute of the Ministry of Justice, then became a judge of the Supreme Court in 1968.
On 18. December 2000, he was selected as Ombudsman. Then in 2006, Motejl was elected into the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic for six years.
