محمدباقر قالیباف، (زادهٔ ۱ شهریور ۱۳۴۰ در طرقبه، مشهد)، سیاستمدار اهل ایران است و هماکنون شهردار تهران است. او دارای مدرک دکتری در رشتهٔ جغرافیای سیاسی از دانشگاه تربیت مدرس و فرماندهٔ سابق نیروی انتظامی جمهوری اسلامی ایران است که در تاریخ ۱۳ شهریور ۱۳۸۴ پس از آن که در انتخابات ریاست رای کافی نیاورد از سوی شورای شهر تهران به عنوان شهردار این شهر انتخاب شد و در اردیبهشت ۱۳۸۶ به وسیله شورای جدید برای ۴ سال دیگر در مقام خود ابقا شد.
او در سن ۲۲ سالگی فرمانده لشکر پنج نصر خراسان در جنگ ایران و عراق بود. او که دوره خلبانی هواپیمای ایرباس را گذراندهاست، در سال ۱۳۷۳ فرمانده قرارگاه خاتم الانبیاء شد و ۱۳۷۶ به فرماندهی نیروی هوایی سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی منصوب شد و در سال ۱۳۷۹ به فرماندهی نیروی انتظامی منصوب شد. او گاهی اوقات خلبانی برخی هواپیماهای مسافربری را بر عهده میگیرد.
او در سال ۱۳۸۳ به حکم رییس جمهور وقت محمد خاتمی رئیس و نماینده رییس جمهور در ستاد مبارزه با قاچاق کالا و ارز شد؛ اگرچه پیش از آن از امضاءکنندگان نامه تهدیدآمیز جمعی از فرماندهان نظامی سپاه به محمد خاتمی بود.
او پیش از آن که به مقام شهرداری تهران برسد در نهمین انتخابات ریاست جمهوری شرکت کرد ولی رای کافی نیاورد.
وی هم اکنون افزون بر شهرداری تهران به عنوان عضو هیات علمی و دانشیار گروه جغرافیای انسانی دانشکدهٔ جغرافیا دانشگاه تهران به تدریس مشغول است.

Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf (Persian: محمدباقر قالیباف, born 23 August 1961) is the current mayor of Tehran, Iran.
Ghalibaf was born to a Lorestani father, a grocer, and a Persian mother in Torqabeh, near Mashhad, on 23 August 1961. In 2001, he received a PhD in geopolitics from Tarbiat Modares University. Then Ghalibaf became one of the senior commanders of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC).
Political career
Ghalibaf was selected by the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, to succeed General Hedayat Lotfian as Chief of the Police Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the Iran student protests in July 1999. He served as the special representative of President of Iran at the time, Mohammad Khatami, on the Anti-Traffic Committee. Ghalibaf was a candidate in the Iranian presidential election of 2005. In September 2005, Ghalibaf was elected by the Tehran City Council to succeed Ahmadinejad as the 57th Mayor of Tehran with 8 out of 15 votes of the council.
