Libertarian Party of West Virginia puts out new platform

Human RightsThe Libertarian Party of West Virginia asserts that all humans are created equal, and that the rights of every sovereign individual must be respected. Human rights are inherent to all humans and must not be in any way abridged or regulated by the state except in cases where the individual has violated the rights of another sovereign individual. We see the right to be recognized as marital partners by some and not others as injustice. Thus, we feel that the policy of state-sponsored marriage is inherently inequal as it recognized only some and not others. Marriage should be viewed as ...

Don't look to Libertarians for a political solution

Brian Howey takes a rather vacuous look at Indiana Libertarians and mistakes the trees for the forest. Libertarians don't need to win. We exist as a third party on a national level because believers in the cause of Liberty who want to act politically, just do so. Why that should translate to actually taking political power escapes political pundits and angry individuals. It's not clear from this article which Mr. Howey is, but the notion does escape him. But it also escapes many earnest Libertarians. While I truly believe the average person is generally libertarian in their live and let live ...

Texas Libertarian Chairman, Pat Dixon, in the New York Times
Smaller Parties Refuse to Be Counted Out By ROSS RAMSEY Published: April 6, 2012 Texas is not a two-party state in the Constitution, or in the law, but it looks that way when the argument is over elections and political districts. The Libertarians and the Greens in Texas hold no partisan political office in the state. And they were sideswiped by the redistricting litigation that delayed primaries, and by confusion over filing deadlines. "It did affect us. They had feared the delayed primaries would be more disruptive, keeping people off the ballot or fouling up convention plans. But both Libertarian and Green candidates have demonstrated enough support in past elections to get on without submitting petitions. And although neither party holds a lofty political seat, Mr. Dixon and others like him are optimistic. Confident, even. "We do a little better every time," said Mr
