The Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of India (CPI) issued the following statement to the Press:The Central Secretariat of the Communist Party India severely condemns the move of the Government of India, to disinvest and sell away the “AIR INDIA” on the name of losses. Air India is one of the jewels of public sector in the country. It is true that Air India is undergoing losses due to inefficiency of administration and sabotage leading to unfair competition with private sector. “If there is will there will be a way”. If the government is honestly interested to save Air India, there are possibilities. 2. Resolution on Unprecedented Agrarian Crisis
The country is in the grip of an unprecedented agrarian crisis. Farmers all over the country are finding it unbearable and being unable to face the crisis they are on the streets in a ‘do or die’ mood. Though the continuing farm crisis can be attributed to the policy of neo-liberalism, the present worsened crisis is the creation of the RSS-BJP led Narendra Modi government which promised to waive of farmers’ loans during election campaigns but did nothing in this regard after coming to power. Instead they have been writing off the debts of corporate houses along with pumping in crores of rupees of concessions in various forms to corporate kitties.  Adding fuel to the fire, the government of India because of its policy of surrender to the US and WTO has allowed imports of the very same items for which we have bumper crops.
