The House sent to Gov. Bill Haslam on Thursday legislation that sets up a tracking system on sales of pseudoephedrine and creates new penalties for makers of methamphetamine and 'smurfs' who help them.
The bill, SB1265, passed the House 98-0. The Senate approved it 31-0 on April 28.
Haslam's signature is not in doubt, since he has endorsed the measure and Safety Commissioner Bill Gibbons served as lead negotiator in developing the compromise.
