Premier Alison Redford will be searching for answers when she arrives in Washington on Monday.
The trip comes just days after the Obama administration announced it would be delaying a decision on the pipeline until after the November 2012 presidential election.
On the PC Association website Redford said she understood it was a domestic issue for the U.S. but would be looking for answers on why they came to the decision.
She also said the trip was bigger than the Keystone XL project.
"This is not, per se, a trip about Keystone.
"This mission is about Alberta; about the fact we are good ...

The numbers are staggering. And disturbing.
In 2010, between 15,000 and 17,000 people used a Calgary shelter for at least one night. Many go to work the next day. It’s hard to believe this is happening in one of the wealthiest cities in the country.
The late, great Art Smith founded the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) in 1998 to create a unified front to fight homelessness. In 2008, the foundation received a new mandate: to end homelessness in Calgary in 10 years. The recent Calgary Homeless Foundation’s annual Premier’s House Warming Party witnessed a great outpouring ...

A southern Alberta Conservative MLA has been turfed following negative remarks about Premier Alison Redford. Broyce Jacobs lost his seat in Edmonton through a party nomination vote on Saturday. Pat Shimbashi will now represent the Cardston-Taber-Warner riding. The Calgary Herald reports Jacobs told a local paper he was "disappointed" in the outcome of the Tory leadership race in October, and that he refused to comment on Redford's leadership qualities.

April 2013 Dear Calgary-Elbow residents,
Our government has been busy over the past month preparing and introducing the 2013 budget, while moving forward with discussions about Alberta's future. Budget 2013 proves our commitment to continuing to build our province, living within our means, and expanding our markets.
As a result of falling oil revenues, our government has been thoughtful in our approach and will prudently deliver on Albertans priorities as part of our long-term economic plan. We will invest in infrastructure and build for our future. Alberta continues to create jobs and attract thousands of new residents each year and our government will ensure that Alberta remains the best place to live in Canada.
While it is important to invest in Alberta's future, it is also important to live within our means. Our government will hold the line on spending and focus on the priorities Albertans elected us to deliver.
