![]() | Gov. Perry Tweets About Meeting Khalilzad ‎Zalmay Khalilzad 57% |
These days, it can be easy to forget that Texas Gov. Rick Perry is not officially running for president. The latest example: Mr. Perry just posted a picture of himself at a meeting with Zalmay Khalilzad, who had served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Afghanistan and Iraq. “W/former Ambassador to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad discussing Middle East policy,” Mr. Perry writes, including a cell phone photo of the two men standing side-by-side. It’s the second time in a month Mr. Perry has advertised one of his meetings on foreign policy involving countries that arguably have limited impact on the Lone Star State. On July 12, after a meeting with Pakistan’s former president, Pervez Musharraf, he posted the following to Twitter: “Met with Former President Musharraf for lunch. Had a great discussion.” Mr. Perry’s spoke. man did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
