Shahbaz visits flood-hit Mianwali, Muzaffargarh

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the flood-hit areas of Mianwali and Muzaffargarh on Saturday. He reviewed the damages at Mitha Khattak Kalwanwala, Kalor Sharif and Turg Shareef of Mianwali.

 

While addressing the people at various places in Muzaffargarh and Mianwali, Shahbaz said that Punjab government has chalked out a rehabilitation plan for affectees, and had planned distribution of compensation.

 

Shahbaz also addressed the members of Punjab Youth Council and said that an important responsibility has been assigned by including them in survey of flood-affected areas. Shahbaz said that he and party chief Nawaz Sharif would not rest till the affectees are settled safely in their homes.

 

He said that he had visited Mianwali five times and would continue their visits. On the demand of the local people, he said that the Danish School would soon be constructed and he would lay the foundation stone for this project.

 

Later, talking to reporters, Shahbaz said that a high level inquiry was underway regarding corruption in the Jinnah Barrage construction project and the persons found responsible would not be spared. The CM gave directions that the floodwater from Agha Khan Colo. y and Tehsil Hospital Isa Khel be drained immediately.
